Prof. Nobuaki Kambe
Prof. Kambe got his B.S. and Ph.D. from Osaka University from 1972 to 1981. Then he worked as assistant professor in Osaka University. From 1982 to 1984, he did postdoctoral studies in Colorado State University, USA. Then he was promoted to associate professor in 1989 and full professor in 1999 in Osaka University. Now he is a guest professor of the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (ISIR) in Osaka University.
His main research areas are synthetic organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and physical organic chemistry. He developed various synthetic reactions using unique chemical reactivities of heavy heteroatom elements and/or transition metals. Particularly his current interests include carbon-carbon bond forming reactions on sp3-carbon centers catalyzed by first low transition metals such as Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu. He has published more than 200 papers with H-index of 34. He is a recipient of many prestigious awards and honors, including Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) Award (2016), The Japan Petroleum Institute Awards (2016) and so on.
